Ajith’s stand on Vijay’s entry into politics..

December 03, 2009

As against his customary silence about all things sensational, Ajith seemed to have shattered his rules with respect to Vijay. In an interview to a tabloid, he has voiced opinion about Vijay’s rumored entry into politics mentioning, ‘I wish him all the best if it gives him and his family peace and happiness’.

Adding to his statement, Ajith also said; ‘at the same time if it doesn’t give him and his family peace and happiness, I sincerely would like to ask him to reconsider his decision’. Now that’s a solid opinion, we say.

Ajit’s Asal gets ready!

By Moviebuzz | Sunday, 22 November , 2009, 12:19

Sivaji Productions big budget action adventure Ajit’s Asal, directed by Saran has started its dubbing at Four Frames studio.

Producer Ram Kumar wanted the dubbing for the film which is almost 90 percent complete to start on Wednesday (Nov 18), a very auspicious day.

The young guns in Sivaji Productions, Dushyant and Vikram, sons of producer Ram Kumar and his brother Prabhu are in charge of the entire production of Asal.

Says Ram Kumar: “These kids are doing great job, precise and professional, they have wrapped up almost the entire shoot on schedule. We are planning to release the film in January.”

Once the dubbing finishes, Saran plans to finish the shoot of two songs for the film one to be shot in a foreign location and the other on a set erected in a Chennai studio. It will be Ajit’s biggest ever movie.

‘Asal’ uses Ajith’s house

IndiaGlitz [Wednesday, November 11, 2009]

‘Asal’ in the combination of Saran-Ajith had its shoot in Malaysia and Paris. Last week the team had its shoot done in a posh apartment in Raja Annamalipuram for three days. Interestingly, the apartment was decorated with the same interior as Ajith’s own house.
The latest location in which the shoot is going on is, Mohan Studios in Saligramam. We hear from the sources that a set which is used as Ajith’s office is erected with a very stylish and hi-fi outlook.

‘Asal’ is out-and-out a commercial flick which has a fast paced screenplay. When asked about the film, the director confidently said, “We are taking care of every minute detail that we can and seeing to that every scene has some interesting stuff. So the whole team is so sure that we will be giving a hit with ‘Asal’ and without doubt ‘Asal’ will be out for Pongal.”

As AVM is considered to be the director’s lucky place, the last schedule of ‘Asal’s shoot is planned to be done in AVM. Saran guaranteed that ‘Asal’ will be a great feast to Ajith fans!

Ajith meets Vijay

November 10, 2009

Ajith who is busy with Asal is back shooting at the AVM studios after completing a hectic schedule abroad. The actor met up with his contemporary Vijay who is also shooting at AVM for his upcoming project Sura. The movie will be shot in fine locales in Kerala and southern Tamil Nadu.

Sameera Speaks About Asal And Ajith

Published in Times Of India daily paper dated Nov 08, 2009

‘I WANT MORE FEMALE FANS THAN GUYS’

It’s not often that you come across a star like Sameera Reddy confessing that she’s impressed about something. And so, when she does, you know it is special.

Says the star, who is in the city shooting for Ajith’s Asal, “I did my first Tamil film Vaaranam Aayiram (VA) with Suriya and I found him really cool. But then, I thought Suriya was a one off case. Now, when I find Ajith to be relaxed, humble and easy to work with as well, I’m thinking, ‘Wow, is this the way the whole Tamil film industry is?’ I’m highly impressed with the industry here.”

That feeling, it seems, is mutual, given the impression the crew of Asal have about her. So, it comes as no surprise when the actress says, “I have to say that it has been a wonderful experience working in Asal, which is being directed by Saran and produced by G Prabhu. I think people in this unit work hard not because they are asked to, but because they want to.”

ON THE FILM’S STORY AND HER ROLE IN IT...

It’s very hard to get the lady to talk about Asal’s story. Choosing her words carefully, she says, “I play a cultural attache in the embassy in France. I play a new age woman, who is very stylish, but is still traditional at heart. My look in the film is French and I speak French. I’m the connection between the hero and what his mission is.”

ON AJITH...

It’s just the storyline that she won’t disclose. However, when it comes to talking about her costars, the actress is more forthcoming. Says she, “There is something special about Ajith. Even if he is not in a scene, he is so worried about the safety of the unit and his co-stars. I remember, in France, he’d keep telling me to put on my seat belt. He didn’t need to be there
even for the stunts that I did in Chennai. But he would stand there and make sure that everything went right. That’s one reason why I respect him a lot.”

ON THE FUN SHE HAD SHOOTING FOR THE FILM...

Commenting on the other members of the crew, she says, “Suresh and Sampath are two people with whom I’ve become good friends.” Narrating a funny incident, she says, “There’s a chase sequence that takes place in the French city of Leon. We were running through crowded streets with Suresh in a police outfit. The camera was camouflaged. So, people thought that a real chase was taking place. As I was running, I noticed an excited look on people’s faces. People everywhere were enamoured with the way we shot.”

ON VAARANAM AAYIRAM’S SUCCESS...

The lady says she’s become a proper Chennaiite and that she loves the city. “Chennai has a relaxing pace, while Mumbai has a hectic lifestyle. Between the two, I have the best of both worlds. I got to know Chennai better when I was working in Vaaranam Aayiram. I’m so proud of VA and the way Gautham presented me in it. I think Gautham got who I was on a level that most directors didn’t. I’ll tell you what the most important thing for me is. It is to have more female fans than guys. To have the ladies of the house love me is what thrills me. And Vaaranam Aayiram did just that. When I met Prabhu sir’s family for Asal, and when the ladies of his house said they really liked me in VA, I was beaming. After VA, I’m extremely careful when it comes to picking my roles in Tamil cinema. I believe I owe that much to my Tamil audience who have given me so much love after VA.”

Ajith’s eyes will speak in ‘Asal’!

IndiaGlitz [Saturday, November 07, 2009]

Our Thala is a man of few words in his real life. We were seeing him delivering punch dialogues and speaking lengthy conversations in his movies, but this time he will be almost mum!

Sources close to Ajith’s upcoming project ‘Asal’ say that the actor will have too less to talk. In fact one can jot down his dialogues in the whole film within two papers.

Yup, director Saran is a person who normally thinks different. He has used the real Ajith in 'Asal' and gave the work to his facial expressions, instead. The director has made Ajith to put across his emotions through his sharp eyes.

Apart from the fact that Ajith is man with a lot of hard work, he is one who can magnetize his fans with his eyes.

Let’s see the reaction of his fans after ‘Asal’ hits the floor…

Ajith silenced

November 06, 2009

Director Saran, known for making films with a difference, has tried something new in the Ajith starer Asal. Sources in Kollywood say that Ajith’s dialogues in the film are not more than two pages. No, this does not mean that his role is cut short, but the actor will convey the emotions mostly through his eyes and facial expressions. This has indeed created a huge expectation among Ajith’s fans.

Asal has a strong star cast including Prabhu, Suresh, Suhasini, Sameera Reddy and Bhavana. The film is slated for Pongal release.

Ajith bagged what Vikram missed?

IndiaGlitz [Friday, November 06, 2009]

It was announced that ‘Yaavarum Nalam’ fame Vikram K Kumar will be working with Vikram in ‘24’. Suddenly the rumour mills churn it that even before the film could start, the director and the actor got to the wrong end of the stick. So, Vikram has left to Ladakh and is shooting for Selvaraghavan’s untitled project.

What is more? The one who is affected because of this issue is the producer Mohan Natrajan. Gossip mongers added that while the producer was stuck between the hero and the director, the man who came to his mind like a knight in shining armour is our “Thala” Ajith.

Well, all know that the producer had already worked with Ajith in ‘Aazhwar’. And it’s learnt that the actor had promised the producer to do another film in future as ‘Aazhwar’ was an average grosser. This was like an energy drink to producer Mohan Natrajan who was in a big misery. And on top of that, reports said that the producer immediately made call to Ajith and asked for his call-sheet. Thank God, Ajith readily accepted the offer and thus Vikram K Kumar will be directing our Ultimate star soon.

Ooff… So much of guess works uh?

When we wanted to clear our doubts, we got in touch with director Vikram K Kumar. As usual the director rubbished the above stories simply and said that slim beauty Ileana will be pairing with Vikram.

The director further added that the film’s title will be changed before the shoot starts.

So, all is clear now people?

“I cannot refuse Ajith’s dates”

November 05, 2009

Director Sasi says that after Poo, he has shifted focus to an action film that is based on rowdyism in the city. He also revealed that the script is ready and the movie would go on floors in January 2010. However, speculations rose when Sasi had mentioned that a popular star would be signed up for this venture.

Following this, in a recent interview to a Tamil daily, Sasi was quizzed about reports that he is set to direct Ajith in his next film to which he replied that he is yet to narrate the script to the actor. He added that when an actor like Ajith offers his dates, he cannot let go of it.

Ajith in Car Race

DRIVER PROFILE

Name: Ajit Kumar

Age: 38 years.

Height: 5 ft 11 inches

Date of birth: 1st May 1971 (Taurean)

Marital status: Married to Shalini

Hobbies and Interests: Aero-modelling RC helicopter and plane. Cricket, swimming, badminton, rifle shooting, flying, photography.

After a successful run in the 2003 Formula BMW Asia Series, film actor and racer Ajit Kumar has now firmed up his plans to participate in the 2004 British F3 Formula Scholarship class in UK. He disclosed his plans in Chennai on January 30, 2004.

For a man, whose interests range from aero-modeling to rifle shooting, one who’s given almost every sport a good shot – from cricket to badminton, swimming to flying – it’s pretty obvious, where his preference lies. With the heart of the adventurer and the spirit of the sportsman, he knows there’s nothing quite like the adrenaline rush of car racing. Ajit has enjoyed his stint in the studios, revelled in the adulation of his fans and played many a part, but feels he now must pursue his true passion, racing….. but he will never give up acting.

Under a new formula to plan his career in both arenas, Ajit will race from March to September and will be involved totally in films from October to February.

Ajit’s racing career started early -- at the age of 19, when he started racing with bikes and was placed among the leading racers in the country. In 2002, Ajit returned to the racing paddock amidst a successful film career to pursue his true passion of Motor Racing. In the Indian National Racing Championship in 2002, he raced in the FISSME class, doing a series of 10 gruelling races and finished fifth in the final leg of the race. In the 2003 Formula, BMW Asia Series, Ajit took part in 14 races and finished the season in the 12th place.

“I’ve always had a need for speed,” says a frank Ajit about his longing to begin racing to fulfill his inner desire. For an enthusiastic adventurer, who is as confident about picking up his Private Pilot Licence, as of setting records on the race track, the desire to take off is truly intense. “Ever since I sat in a car I wanted to be a professional racer. Lots of people have told me how difficult it is. But I’m not going to fail and I’ve never given anything less than my best shot in all my endeavors."

In the current year, Ajit is all geared up to participate in the F3 races in UK. The British F3 races are classified into two – A and B Classes. ‘A’ cars are of the latest specifications which means a budget ranging from 80,000 to 90,000 Pounds, much more than the ‘B’ class. The ‘B’ class cars are older by two years, i.e 2000 – 2001 chassis. The ‘B’ class cars have ‘H ‘ type gear boxes. Both the races – ‘A’ and ‘B’ classes are run together. There would be 20 cars in ‘A’ class and 10 – 12 cars in ‘B’ cars. But the prize classifications would be different. Ajit would be racing in ‘B’ class. He would graduate to Class ‘A’ in future depending on the sponsorship.

Motor Racing stars of the country like Narain Karthikeyan and Karun Chandok have excelled in this class and have won laurels for India, before moving on to higher class of racing.

Ajit has signed up with Mango Racing, run by the Internationally famous Patrick Roberts, the chief engineer with many teams in Europe and Asian regions to manage his career. Patrick, after many years of experience, has decided to run his own team. He is on the road now with just one car and that is to be raced by Ajit. Patrick was closely associated with the pioneer of Indian Motor Sports, the late A Karivardhan. Ajit was introduced to Patrick Roberts by Akbar Ebrahim, who managed Ajit’s racing programme in 2003.

This adventurous actor completed 38 films in 11 years including Aasai, Vaali, Kaadhal Kottai, Amarkalam and Villain. He has also over 48,000 registered fan clubs.

Speaking about his plans for the film industry, Ajit said he could never think of quitting the film industry. "It was cinema that gave me an identity, popularity and also enabled me to meet Shalini, whom I ultimately married. I will continue to act in films. I am not making films to just to make money. If I want to make money, I can accept all kinds of film assignments but I am choosy, believing in quality and not quantity," he says.

"All I have done now is to regulate my career in such a way that I can do both without affecting my producers (they are my friends first) and my sports life. Oct-Feb is normally a lean period for motor racing due to the onset of winter. Therefore, I will complete my film projects during this period so that no one is affected. My fans won't miss me because my films will get released in the next half of the year."

"What I am now doing is to use my popularity to create an awareness about Motor Racing so that the sport gets a boost in India. It should get the sponsorship that is available for cricket. For that to happen, it should become a mass game like cricket," he said appealing to the media and the public to support Motor Racing.

"Indians love a good game. And I'm sure racing will grow to become even more popular as the years go by. I'd love to do my bit to make that happen.....to quicken the pace perhaps."

Ajith in London!

Thala pola varuma...
The second schedule of Ajith starrer ‘Asal’ is to take place very soon in London. As planned earlier, 30% of the shoot will happen in London, 50% will be shot in Malaysia and 20%will be in Chennai. Starting with the first schedule, the share that was calculated to be shot in Malaysia was wrapped-up recently.
Sources close to the project say that Ajith will be a decently dressed villain in London. “Ajith will be enacting in a scene in which he gives out an interview to America’s Wall Street journal in British English accent,” added the source.
The point is that our “Thala” Ajith is taking full-fledged practice to deliver the talk with the proper British accent!
What else to say - Thala pola varuma?

ASAL VS VETTAIKARAN ON PONGAL

Latest news from the camp of Vijay’s Vettaikaran suggests that the movie may not after all make it for Diwali, the originally proposed release date. With just over two weeks left for Diwali there are quite a few portions of the film that remain to be shot. This includes a few talkie scenes and a song for which the crew plans to go to Australia. With so much work remaining there are doubts whether the film will be ready in time for the festive season.

With Sun Pictures having acquired the movie, there have been talks with Vijay regarding this issue. Vijay is said to have opined that the remaining work need not be unduly hurried; it can be done in the best way possible. Sun Pictures have agreed to this and with that it has been more or less ascertained that Vetaikaran will not be ready for Diwali. If not Diwali, then when will Vettaikaran release?

Obviously there are no plans to go in for a mid-season release and the producers are willing to wait for the next festival season to set in, which is Pongal. With that a major change has occurred in the highly anticipated star clashes. Everyone expected Aadhavan and Vettaikaran to clash for the honors this Diwali. But now, with Vettaikaran’s Pongal shift, Aadhavan is free and guess what, it is going to be a head on with Asal which is also gearing up for a Pongal release. So, it is going to be the marquee clash one more time, Vijay vs. Ajith.
